वृद्धि क्या है:- (What is growth)
बालकों की शारीरिक संरचना का विकास जिसके अंतर्गत लंबाई, भार और मोटाई तथा अन्य अंगों का विकास आता है, इस प्रकार का विकास वृद्धि अंतर्गत आता है। वृद्धि की प्रक्रिया आंतरिक एवं बाह्य दोनों रूप में होता है। वृद्धि भी एक निश्चित आयु तक होती है वृद्धि पर अनुवांशिकता का सकारात्मक एवं नकारात्मक दोनों प्रकार के प्रभाव पड़ते हैं।

The process of growth takes place both internally and externally. Growth also takes place up to a certain age, there are both positive and negative effects of heredity on growth.

विकास क्या है? ( What is development )
विकास की प्रक्रिया पूरे जीवन भर चलती है। विकास की प्रक्रिया में बालक का शारीरिक, क्रियात्मक,संज्ञानात्मक, भाषागत, संवेगात्मक एवं सामाजिक विकास होता है।
The process of development continues throughout life. In the process of development, physical, functional, cognitive, linguistic, emotional and social development of the child takes place.
बालक में क्रमबद्ध रूप से होने वाले सुसंगत परिवर्तन की क्रमिक श्रृंखला को विकास करते हैं।
Develop a series of sequential consistent changes in the child.
वृद्धि और विकास में अंतर {Difference between growth and development} :-

| 1.वृद्धि को हम माप भी सकते है।
We can measure the growth. |
1. विकास को सामान्यतः मापना कठिन है।
Growth is generally difficult to measure. |
| 2. वृद्धि की प्रक्रिया आजीवन नहीं चलती है।
The process of growth does not last a lifetime. |
2. विकास की प्रक्रिया आजीवन चलती है।
The process of development goes on for a lifetime. |
| 3. वृद्धि की प्रक्रिया आंतरिक एवं बाह्य दोनों रूप में होता है।
The process of growth takes place both internally and externally. |
3.विकास की प्रक्रिया केवल आंतरिक रूप में होता है।
The process of development takes place only internally. |
| 4. वृद्धि शब्द परिणात्मक परिवर्तनों के लिए प्रयोग में लाये जाते है।जैसे जब बालक की उम्र बढ़ती है तो उसके साथ उसकी लंबाई चौड़ाई भी बढ़ती है जिसे हम वृद्धि कहते है।
The word growth is used for the quantitative changes. As when the age of the child increases, his length and breadth also increase with him which we call growth. |
4. विकास शब्द का प्रयोग गुणात्मक परिवर्तन के लिए प्रयोग में लाया जाता है, जैसे बालक में कार्यकुशलता, कार्यक्षमता आदि की वृद्धि होती है तो विकास शब्द का प्रयोग किया जाता है।The term development is used for qualitative change. is used, such as efficiency in the child, If there is an increase in efficiency etc. then the word development is used. |
| 5. वृद्धि विकास का एक छोटा रूप है, विकास की सतत प्रक्रिया में यह एक छोटा सा चरण है।
Growth is a small form of development, it is a small stage in the continuous process of development. |
5. विकास शब्द एक विस्तृत शब्द है। वृद्धि विकास का ही भाग है।
The word development is a broad term. Growth is part of development. |
| 6. वृद्धि में होने वाले जो परिवर्तन है उसे सामान्य रूप से जीवन मे देखा जा सकता है।
The changes that take place in growth can be seen in life in general. |
6. विकास को सामान्यतः देखा नही जा सकता है। क्योंकि व्यक्ति के जीवन मे यह अप्रत्यक्ष रूप में होते है।
Development is generally not observable. Because it happens indirectly in the life of a person. |
